Yesterday was my sweet friend's birthday! She has been there for me more times than I can count! She listens to me , laughs with me, cares for my babies, plans birthday parties, prays for me (etc. etc.) and has always kept pointing me to Christ through it all! You are the best S!! I wish we had more time together! She will kill me when she sees this but I had to honor her somehow! Thank you Lord for my special friend and all the ladies in my life that point me to You!

Not So Manic Monday
Today, we did not have to go to preschool.
Today, I got to stay in bed because Daddy Boy was home.
Today, I did not have to drive Puddin' to school.
Today, I stayed in my PJs for a while.
Today, we were not rushed.
Today, LPie and I cuddled under the covers.
Today, I got to take a slow shower.
Today, I got to wear sweat pants and a big t-shirt.
Today, we played the "human banjo" game which is really just tickling.
Today, we looked at egg hunting pictures on the computer.
Today, Daddy Boy was home for lunch.
Today, I took a nap with Daddy Boy.
Today, Daddy Boy picked up Puddin' from school.
Today, Puddin' got to go shopping with her Daddy Boy all by herself.
Today, my baby kissed me without prompting.
Today, there were no big girl squabbles.
Today, we took turns and got along.
Today, I only had to spank one booty.
Today, my big kids and I made dinner.
Tonight, my big kids loved the dinner we made.
Tonight, Puddin' asked for jalapenos with her dinner. YOU GO GIRL!
Tonight, my whole family ate dinner together.
Tonight, I've done 2 loads of dishes.
Tonight, my big girls and I cuddled in the big chair with a quilt and watched J&K+8.
Tonight, it is quiet in my house.
Today, I feel like I was a really good Mommy and I owe it all to Him.
Today, we rested. We loved. We enjoyed each other. It was a Marvelous Monday.
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. Psalm 62:5

The Thrill Is Gone
Sing it BB! Love those guitar licks Lucille! (For those late comers to this post, it did play the actual tune The Thrill Is Gone.)It was Day 11 without a Diet Dr Pepper and I went back to the bottle. Why? It was cold ... and available...and there calling my name from the fridge in my office - contraband left over from before Spring Break. And let me tell you the thrill is gone baby! It was a let down! Why have I been so addicted all this time and thought that I could never give up my vice of choice? I'm free from your spell!!!
This was me last week....
I'm attempting to be funny so please don't be offended by any 12 step references ! I'm just using humor to face my own addictions.
Hi, I'm Wendy and I have a problem. It has been 5 days since my last drink......of Diet DP that is! ; ) I haven't been able to go caffiene cold turkey so I'm wearing the "Tetley Tea Patch" for caffeine addicts. I was really feeling the urge to drink today but I used one of my 12 steps to get myself back on the program. I used the Humiliator step - which is not taking a bath and staying in your PJs all day to prevent the urge to go into public and score a DDP. (I have a fear of the truck breaking down with me in my PJs with 3 kids and a hubby in outer Mongolia so this works for me).
On Day 3, I used the Avoider step so with a little help from the wine guys using their pallet to block the area, I was able to avoid the carbonated beverage aisle at WM. I broke out in a cold sweat as I jogged by it but a major breakthrough for me! I figure if its not at my house then I can't drink it and I'll continue using the Humiliator step to prevent urges.
My biggest feat to date was on Day 9! I was able to pull up to a Sonic (aka crack house for caffiene users) and not order a dime bag full of evil sweetness. I can live in a world of DDP and DDP users.
This is where I need your help! My problem now is that I've replaced DDP with sweets. I've gained 3 lbs and I need your support to help me get on the straight and narrow! You have my permission to conduct an intervention if you deem my use of sweets gets to a dangerous level. I may resist and call you ugly names but its the sugar talking! It's not really me! Deep down there is a healthy thin girl wanting to get out and put down the Hostess Cupcakes! With your help I can break this addiction too! I will no longer be a slave to my tongue and its desires for sweets! Someday the sweets thrill will be gone too!

Sprinkles of Blessings
Have you ever had a cupcake or cookie with sprinkles on it? Most of us have! It just makes you smile! My kids go nuts for sprinkles whenever we bake cookies or cakes. I have caught them with the sprinkle shaker bottoms up and tongues out filling themselves with sugary goodness! I particularly like the colored sugar type that kinda sparkles when you sprinkle it on. Even though I love the way the sprinkles look, I don't always like the way they taste. Well, I kinda feel like that when I find a verse that really strikes my heart. It is kinda like God pouring little sparkling sprinkles on my day! Some days God sprinkles me with super inspirational words that I feel like I am really running the spiritual marathon of life and my race time is at a great pace. Other spiritual sprinkles, while still beautiful, may not taste so nice. You know those ones like "love your enemy" and "do everything without complaining." So check out the bottom of my blog every so often for some sprinkles of blessings! Thanks for running the race with me!

Windy by The Association
Break out the tamborines and sideburns! Here's the song I was named after! My kids got a big kick out of it! Baby Sugar thinks it's the grooviest music she has ever heard! She "dances" every time she hears it! When I was a kid, I thought this was the goofiest song I'd ever heard. My parents bought the 45 for me to play on my record player! : ) I think it's kinda cool now that I'm older.
Reflections on Snow
I've entered the world of blogging! I'm still learning how to do this so nothing real exciting happening here right now. I wrote this email last week about the snow and could not get it to send so I thought that I would post it.
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55
A verse for fitting for today! Snow that will water the earth and bring forth the bud!! I love snow since we don't see it much here! Ya'll know that I'm weird and God speaks to me through nature so of course the snow got to me this morning. I was a little sad that we had to rush off to Rodeo Day and only had a moment to savor the beauty of it all. Forgive my kooky-ness, but I felt like it was a special blessing for all of us, a sprinkling of the Almighty's power and awesomeness! I kept thinking about those storehouses laden with snow that the Word talks about and today it was our turn to see them! My L-Pie has been praying for a long time for the snow to come and I think she had given up hope so it was great to see her face this morning.
For those that rodeo-ed with me today, you deserve a great big "SA - LUTE!!" (if you've watched Hee Haw then you get it) In other words, thanks for all you did today to make it special for our buckaroos!
I leave you with this verse fitting for the Easter season and I hope you have a great spring break!
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18
